How to get to Cordoba (Spain)

BY CAR

Cordoba’s strategic geographical position means that it is extremely well connected not only with Andalusia, but also with the rest of Spain, via the A-4 motorway. The main routes are:

  • From Madrid: Take the A-4 highway (‘Autovía del Sur’) towards the south-west. Approximate journey duration: 4 hours 30 minutes
  • From Seville: Also take the A-4 highway (‘Autovía del Sur’), this time towards the East. Approximate journey duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • From Malaga: Take the A-45 highway towards the North Approximate journey duration: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • From Valencia: Take the A-3 and the A-43 highway to connect to the A-4. Approximate journey duration: 5 hours 30 minutes
  • From Murcia and Levante: Take the A-7 highway to connect with the A-45 via the A-92N and A-92
  • From Portugal and Extremadura: The northern access to Cordoba is via the N432 national road
  • From the Portuguese Algarve and Huelva: Take the A-49 highway (‘Quinto Centenario’) to Seville and then take the A-4 to Cordoba
  • From Gibraltar and Cadiz: Take the A-4 highway (‘Autovía del Sur’) north-east towards Madrid

BY TRAIN

Train connections are excellent, as Cordoba is a hub on the rail network which connects Madrid with Malaga, Seville, Cadiz and Huelva.

Train journeys to Cordoba from Seville, Malaga, Madrid, Valencia, Alicante and Barcelona are particularly comfortable thanks to the slick, efficient High Speed Train (AVE). Length of journeys::

  • Seville-Cordoba: 40 minutes
  • Málaga-Córdoba: 50 minutes
  • Madrid-Cordoba: 1 hour 40 minutes
  • Valencia-Córdoba: 3 hours
  • Alicante-Córdoba: 4 hours
  • Barcelona-Cordoba: 4 hours 35 minutes
